There was a huge swell last weekend and a competition of big wave surfing took place. The waves were really powerful and super big, about 8 meters tall maybe. The surfer guys were using 9 foot (about 3 meters) boards and looked tiny on the big sets. The rip current was so strong it seemed like a fast flowing river. There was no way the surfers could paddle against it so they had a jet ski with a water sled (made by Toobs???) pulling them to the take off spot. CRAZY!!! I wish we could post a video clip for you to see the real size and power of the wave, the pictures unfortunately don't really show it.
