San Fernando's wine fest took place last weekend. We got a little group together and made the 2 hour trip inland on the "ruta del vina" for some local wine tasting. A glass and 4 tastings cost 3500 Pesos which is about 7 bucks. Semu and I tried the different Cabernet Sauvignons of the region and some were really good.
This was our first tasting of the day. Olli and Manuela were staying at our hostel, Viviana (front right) is the owner of the hostel Atlantis.
There were loads and loads of meat asados (BBQs) at the festival. It was pretty chilly that day so people were warming their hands on the fire where the split open pigs were roasting.
Creative stoves for more smoked meat.
Olli needed a snack after how many glasses of wine?
The festival offered musical entertainment as well, for example these guys playing the drum and chimbals with their foot and spinning around in circles as fast as possible. It was pretty fun to watch and I'm surprised they didn't get dizzy and trip over their own feet.
Nicely painted fire station in San Fernando.
